I don’t know about you guys but 2013 was a year of mixed emotions for me. I had so many hopes with none of them realized, instead the year took me on an emotional roller coaster. I could go into details about all that happened to me in 2013 but I’d rather not. Just know it wasn’t a good year for me & I’d soon like to forget it & keep it moving. However, as I prayed and questioned God about 2013, He spoke two words into my spirit regarding 2014; Renewed Hope! He gave me
Psalm 71: vs 5-14
5 For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord,
my confidence since my youth.
6From birth I have relied on you;
you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.
I will ever praise you.
7I have become a sign to many;
you are my strong refuge.
8My mouth is filled with your praise,
declaring your splendor all day long.
9Do not cast me away when I am old;
do not forsake me when my strength is gone.
10For my enemies speak against me;
those who wait to kill me conspire together.
11They say, “God has forsaken him/her;
pursue and seize him/her,
for no one will rescue him/her.”
12Do not be far from me, my God;
come quickly, God, to help me.
13May my accusers perish in shame;
may those who want to harm me
be covered with scorn and disgrace.
14As for me, I will always hope in you;
I will praise you more and more.
Renewed Hope doesn’t mean those things that died in 2013 will be resurrected. It does mean that God is still God no matter what and my hope should still and only be in Him. I don’t know what some of you went through in 2013, maybe like me it was a roller coaster year for you as well. If you can relate to what I’m saying then I need you to know that God is the only one that will never disappoint you. You can count on Him to be God in your life regardless of what happens so put your hope in Him. May 2014 be a year of renewed hope for us all! Happy New year y’all!
