Loving others –Parents and Children–Ephesians 6: 1-4 (New living translation) Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord & this is the right thing to do. 2 Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise. 3 If you honor your father and mother, things will go well for you, and you will have long life on the earth. 4. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
I thought this was important enough to share as a love lesson. The word “honor” means to respect & admire. I know some people don’t have parents that they can respect and admire but do it anyway b/c it’s the right thing to do. God used them to give u life & that should be reason alone! God will honor you for it. In the same token, vs 4 tells parents how to treat their children. Don’t provoke them to wrath by abusing them or treating them badly, rather love them & bring them up with discipline & instruction from the Lord! (so yes, sometimes you have to discipline them but this should never translate into abuse see Hebrews 12: 5-11) Make it a grand day y’all!
